Alexandria Searles
Alexandria (Alex) Searles, also known as Morowa Mosai, is our very first AIR in the state of South Carolina, at the property Elevate at Brighton Park in Summerville. She is a visual artist, graphic designer, and all around creative who exudes creativity not only through her paintings and prints, but through her personal style, clothing, jewelry, interior design and more!
“I believe that artistic expression is the heartbeat of society. Through my actions I aspire to impact my community, break barriers and inspire others to express themselves through the awesome responsibility and platform of being an artist.” Alex’s style can be described as Afrocentric and Empowered Femininity. She is passionate about using her creativity to uplift women, especially women of color.
Alex has worked with several Non-profit Organizations in the Charleston area. She has completed 3 murals in the city, hosted several events, and completed illustrations for published works. Her work has been shown at Spoleto Festival, and exhibited at local galleries. Alex has also been featured at several speaking engagements geared to youth and women.
“The visual arts allows me to express myself. My art is a physical window to my soul. I am blessed to be able use this gift to inspire, advocate, and promote diversity across racial and cultural divides.”
Some of the classes Alex hopes to bring to the community are contemporary painting classes, still life practice, and a community mural. She is excited to incorporate her crafting expertise into the weekly curriculum by presenting classes such as jewelry making, coaster creation, and DIY projects for home decor!
