Artist in Residence 2025 | Central Station on Orange | Orlando, FL

Jamali Sanderson

Jamali Sanderson’s passion for cooking began in childhood, when he started preparing meals for himself and his brother while his mother worked long hours. Encouraged by her trust and fueled by his own curiosity, Sanderson became a self-taught chef, deeply influenced by a close friend who mentored him in the kitchen before passing away—a loss that continues to shape his culinary journey.

Over the past nine years, Sanderson has cultivated a dynamic career in the culinary industry. He spent two years as a traveling chef, enhancing kitchens across the country and maintaining high dining standards for various properties. His skills have earned him opportunities to cook for professional athletes and celebrities, including NBA players Mo Bamba and Andre Drummond, music producer Ayo, and former NFL player Darren Lee.

Today, Sanderson serves as sous chef at a prestigious Michelin Guide restaurant expected to earn its first star. With a clear goal of becoming an executive chef, he continues to refine his craft through bold flavors, thoughtful technique and a deep commitment to creating memorable meals that bring people together.

As the Chef Artist in Residence at Central Station on Orange, Sanderson shares his love for food, community and connection with residents through curated dining events and interactive culinary experiences.
