Artist in Residence 2026 | The ReVe | Garland, TX

Lauren Tompkins

Lauren Tompkins is a Dallas-based interdisciplinary artist, photographer, and art preservation professional whose work explores shifting landscapes, ecological memory, and the ways environments hold evidence of change. Using photographs printed on translucent Mylar and iridescent materials, she creates layered works that move between photography, painting, and object. Light, shadow, and the viewer’s position become part of each piece.

Her ongoing projects have taken her through the Painted Desert, Petrified Forest, Grand  Canyon, Colorado mountains, coastal Florida, and the egret rookeries of North Texas. Her commissioned and public-facing work includes projects with TIAA, Saatchi Art, Sotheby’s International Realty, Art + Artisans, and private collectors.

Alongside her studio practice, Lauren has worked in art conservation, collection care, education,  and community programming. As Artist in Residence at The ReVe, she will lead accessible,  nature-centered workshops, collaborative art projects, field observation activities, and creative experiences for residents of different ages and skill levels. Her goal is to help neighbors connect while looking more closely at the landscapes and living systems around them.
